| Description | Weeks ahead from his planned visit to Saudi Arabia, Egypt Minister of Foreign Trade & Industry, Eng. Mohamed Rashid, has terminated anti dumping fees imposed earlier on polyethylene imported from Saudi Arabia. Visit is planned January 10 – 13, 2005. Observers predicted the measure would greatly ease Eng. Rashid mission in Riyadh to get Saudi blessing & agreement for issues now restricting several Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia. On top of the list are limitations on Egyptian potato exports, now to be effected only via Jeddah Port, also a ban imposed on Egyptian meat & poultry exports among other restrictions facing onion exports. On their side, Saudi exporters would raise problems they are facing in exporting several products to Egypt, for which Egyptian importers are requesting certification of goods being free from radiation. |
