| Description | Earlier announced L.E. 1 billion + relocation scheme of some state owned pharmaceutical companies to the (so-called) Medicine City in Abu Zaabal seem well progressing. According to Dr. Galal Ghorab, head of the Holding Co. for Pharmaceuticals, first phase of the scheme, for completion during the first quarter of 2005 under L.E. 200 million investments, provides for the location of EL Nasr Co. & the Pharmaceutical Packages Co., also the construction of a new antibiotics factory. Second phase of the scheme provides for the relocation of Cairo Co. & the Arab Co. while the third phase provides for the relocation of CID Co. & the construction of a modern research & development center. Other 3 companies will not be relocated & will be revamped at their present locations including Memphis Co., Alexandria Co. & the Nile Co. |
