| Description | Egypt Minister of Petroleum, Eng. Sameh Fahmy, has announced that measures have been initiated to proceed with $ 450 million project to produce 1.3 million tons/ year of methanol. He added that a Canadian Company identified as Methanics offered to acquire 60 % of the project equity. He revealed that Methanics controls almost 25 % of the world annual methanol production. Other potential shareholders include the Holding Co. for Petrochemicals (to hold 24 %) & Citibank (to hold 16 %). |
