| Description | Egypt Minister of Investment, Dr. Mahmoud Mohie El Din, was quoted in the media revealing agreement is to be soon concluded for a $ 44 million project to revamp the third furnace at HADISOLB [Egyptian Iron & Steel Co.] under World Bank partial funding. Project would raise the furnace design capacity from 500,000 tons to 800,000-tons/ year and reduce consumption of coke in the production process by 23 Kg for each ton. Project also provides for tangible saving in energy consumption & better adaptation to environment limitations. Minister indicated that $ 8 million funding for the project would be arranged through the Ministry of State for Environment. |
