| Description | 19 petroleum agreements were signed during FY 2003/ 2004 for petroleum concessions covering 107,000 Km2 land & involving $ 675 million committed investments apart from $ 12 million signature bonus. That was announced by Eng. Sameh Fahmy, Minister of Petroleum, indicating the year has witnessed 27 oil & gas finds. He added that the petroleum sector exports during 2003/ 2004 (oil, gas, petroleum products & petrochemicals) reached $ 4.2 billion marking 23 %+ growth above their level in 2002/ 2003. Crude oil production during the year stabilized at 700,000-barrels/ day. |
