A Euro 2.25 million Egyptian Italian project was announced to revamp underground water resources in North Sinai. Project will be executed in Gefgafa area. Implementing agency is a committee grouping representatives of the Ministry of State for Environment, the National Institute for Aquatic Research, reporting to the Ministry of Water Resources & Irrigation & North Sinai Governorate. The Italian side has raised Euro 1.45 million grant to part finance the scheme. Project provides for water wells drilling, a water desalination unit, also water distribution & waste water networks. |
