After having acquired a leading post in Egypt cement industry, in joint venture with Titan Group of Greece, La Farge of France launching a $ 10 million project in Sinai to produce gypsum walls. Project owner is identified as La Farge Egypt Gypsum Co. Media reports indicated that La Farge has already obtained relevant franchises to exploit gypsum quarries in Sinai & it would soon proceed to build a complimenting factory. N.B. La Farge obviously disposes on most advanced gypsum extraction technology, also technologies for product down streaming. Fact remains that La Farge entrance to that industry in Egypt would no doubt enhance it and push other gypsum producers to develop and revamp their operations, also diversify their products. Meanwhile the development assumes taking prompt & fast measures on the side of the concerned authorities & agencies to overcome bureaucracy and red tape prevailing since decades. Fact remains that Egypt disposes on huge reserves of gypsum, so far not properly exploited. |
