Initial agreement reached with a Chinese company to pump some $ 300 million investments at phase 2 of East Port Said Port development project in case the Danish (franchise holding) party fails to do so. It is identified as Kozco Co. Project goes in cooperation with Dr. Effat El Sadat as strategic partner of the company. Agreement was reached during the recent visit of Egypt Minister of Transport, Dr. Eng. Essam Sharaf to China and Hong Kong & his negotiations with Kozco executives. The Minister has indicated that in case the Danish Co. would execute that phase, Kozco would be given another area inside the port to implement its projects. On his side Dr. Effat El Sadat was quoted in the media indicating that the scheme involves a new containers handling terminal with an annual design capacity to handle up to 5 million containers. |
