Works started on phase one of an L.E. 15 million project for the public lighting of the200 Km long Cairo/ Alexandria Desert Road. Development is part of a plan of the Ministry of Transport to increase safety & security aspects along that strategic road. Implementing agency is the Roads Division at GARBLT – General Authority for Roads, Bridges & Land Transport. Project cost is raised by both the Ministry of Transport & that of Electricity & Energy. Development sends good news to companies & businesses involved with public lighting equipment, lighting poles & projectors among other electrical feeder industries. N.B. It is not clear whether the scheme would go under a solar energy solution or follow traditional approaches. |
