| Description | Recent released cement production statistics for the year 2004(circulated by the Ministry of Investments) showed total production during the year reached 35.5 million tons. Front runner was ECC – Egyptian Cement Co. with 7.4 million tons (20.1 % share), followed by Assuit Cement Co. with 4.8 million tons (13.6 % share). Third ranking was Suez Cement Co. with 4.15 million tons (11.76 % share), followed by Asec Cement Co. with 4.1 million tons (11.74 % share). Fifth ranking was state owned National Cement Co. with 2.96 million tons (8.4 % share) followed by Tora Cement Co. with 2.85 million tons (8.07 % share) and by La Farge/ Titan Alliance, i.e. Alexandria Cement & Beni Swef Cement with 2.83 million tons (8.02 % share). Other companies included Amriya Cement (Cempor), Sinai Cement, Misr Cement Qena and Misr Beni Swef Cement. |
