| Description | The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports & Air Navigation (EHCAAN) has received a loan for the equivalent of US $ 335 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction & Development (IBRD) & intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to payments under the contract for the Technical Assistance for Environmental Training. EHCAAN now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (company profile, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). The selected consultant should have had strong & proven records in similar assignments & capable of demonstrating sufficient consultancy & operational capabilities to undertake the execution of the above mentioned tasks. The invited consultants should also provide evidence that over the last five years they have carried out at least two similar environmental training each worth not less than US $ 10,000. The main objective for the assignment is to produce an Annual Training Plan that contains: (a) five courses (Egyptian Environmental Regulation, Solid Waste & Hazardous Waste Management & Recycling, Noise Measurements, Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Systems, Introduction to Quality Control & Assurance), (b) six seminars (International Environmental Guidelines & Environmental Regulation of Airport, Communication with Public, Media & Social Services, Heat Stress & Illumination Measurements, Drinking Water & Waste Water Analyses & Point Source Emissions Measurements), (c) courses & seminars will include site visiting and on job training. Consulting service contract implementation is expected to commence on the 1st quarter of 2005. The duration for the assignment will be 12 months. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines, selection & employment of consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised in September 1997, January 1999, & May 2002).
