According to Dr. Sherief Ezzat, head of the Non – Pharmaceutical Medical Industries Branch at the Engineering Industries Chamber was quoted in the Media indicating that relevant Chamber exports have increased to $ 80 million in 2004, up from $ 65 million in 2003. He further predicted that the said exports might well be increased in 3 years time to reach $ 250 million with the same existing capacities. Dr. Ezzat has further revealed that Arab & African demand on non – pharmaceutical medical equipment is now estimated at $ 2 billion/ year & Egypt should be capable to cover 10 % of that market, i.e. about $ 200 million apart from exports to the rest of the world. |
