A study prepared by the National Planning Institute & quoted in the media has predicted demand on cement would increase to 42.4 million tons by 2015 compared with 30.2 million tons at present. Study indicated that the said demand in 1999 had slightly exceeded the 26.7 million tons level. Earlier media reports have quoted Egypt Minister of Foreign Trade & Industry indicating that the national cement industry, now hosting 12 producers, disposes on 11 million tons of cement surplus exported abroad. |
