| Description | Recent circulated news indicating that BG – British Gas, of the UK, has signed a (further) agreement with Egypt LNG – Liquefied Natural Gas Co. to buy 2.4 million tons/ year, for re-sale to Enel of Italy, have consolidated earlier expressed intentions to build a third production line at the company. Media reports have further indicated that Egypt LNG (35 % owned by BG) has already sold the output of both the first & second production lines to Gas De France & to BG (the later was signed in September 2003). Media reports have revealed that design capacity of Egypt LNG is sufficient to host up to six production lines. N.B. Development would logically translate in parallel projected extensions of gas export facilities, of relevant back – up onshore support facilities & of further related revamping in Edkou City & Beheira Governorate in general. |
