| Description | Plans seem progressing to convert Akhbar Al Yom Media Academy in 6th October City into a university. The Academy started with 400 students, 5 years ago with two divisions, the press division and the printing engineering & technology division. Now it hosts 2,000 students. New Academy Chairman, Mr. Galal Dewidar (to follow late honorable Mr. Said Sonbol) has publicly called for the conversion of the Academy into (an integrated) Akhbar Al Yom University. That would require the completion of the (earlier planned) buildings & the procurement of the presently negotiated neighboring land lot to accommodate relevant public services & utilities. It further requires concluding an agreement with the Smart Village to train the students on IT & other engineering fields, also searching for cooperation with foreign universities |
