| Description | The Alexandria Port Authority has invited major international companies with international experience in cruise terminal operation to manage & operate the Alexandria Cruise Terminal project located in the city of Alexandria, expected to operate by the beginning of year 2006 & to host 600,000 passengers annually. The management company shall also have a distinct experience in managing commercial real estate investments in order to furnish an attractive tourist & civic center serving the city community locals & other city tourist activities. The area dedicated for the project is 50,000 M2 area at Port of Alexandria. The project consists of the following main items distributed over 4 floor levels: passenger arrival/ departure halls of total area 10,000 M2, commercial activities, mall & restaurants of total area 7, 000 M2., ship births surrounding the project of total area 1,000 M2 of depth of 30 ft. The cruise terminal is directly linked to outside the custom zone of Port of Alexandria through a private car bridge, 700 m long, ending to a newly constructed memorial gate, leading to the historical & commercial center of Alexandria. All foundation works & concrete superstructure are completed, while finishing & electromechanical works are currently under construction. The project is designed to meet international standards & will be equipped with state of the art passenger elevators & escalators, central air conditioning system, automated alarm & control system, advanced communication & information system & high quality internal & external finishing. The project is a part of the master plan of the great tourist district at Port of Alexandria that is currently under development. The tourist district includes a yacht marina, a waterfront, commercial areas, exhibition center, a world trade center & parking areas for more than 400 cars. |
