| Description | Hours before the Year end, Egypt Minister of Petroleum & Minerals has sent reasonably promising news to the 70 million + Egyptian people. While addressing the 7th International Conference on Chemical Engineering, organized by the Chemical Engineers Society, the Minister stressed the weight of the petroleum exports being crucial to build foreign currency surpluses to contribute in financing national development projects, rather than just coping with local consumption requirements. Meanwhile Eng. Fahmy has revealed that oil & gas production increased in 2003/ 2004 to 58.5 million tons, that local refinery capacities increased to 35 million tons/ year & that petroleum exports increased to 18.6 million tons worth $ 4.2 billion. Meanwhile, he repeatedly confirmed that confirmed natural gas reserves are now put at 66 trillion cubic feet. |
